Rehabilitative Center of Children Brain and Nerve is one of key departments of Nanhai Maternity and Children Care Hospital Affiliated Guangzhou Chinese Traditional Medical University. It is also an establishing key department of Traditional Chinese medicine combined with western medicine in Guangdong. There are 60 hospital beds and 10 VIP hospital beds for patients. The diagnosis and treatment for cerebral palsy are characteristic of the center. The center adopts rehabilitative methods of traditional Chinese medicine and western medicine to cure cerebral palsy , mental retardation, postencephalitis, epilepsy and autism etc. which are possibly caused by intrauterine distress, dystocia, premature birth, birth asphyxia, cerebral anoxia, intracranial hemorrhage, jaundice, eclampsia and etc. This is one of the largest and well known rehabilitative centers for children with brain or nerve disease in Guangdong. It reaches top-grade level in the hardware and the software facilities It possesses higher popularity and good reputation in our country and abroad. This center involves departments of promoting early intelligence development for children and development behavior specialty about learning disorder, ADHD ,speech or language disorder and etc.

EXPERIENCE: Over 20 year’s clinical experience in paediatric.? After 1993,he has visited USA, France, Germany, etc to study children cerebral palsy rehabilitation. He created a method using high dosage ( 莨菪类药 ) to improve brain circulation, neuron cell regeneration and nerve impulse transmission,dedicated study in the laboratory on animals, clinical study of sub-normal intelligence of children and cerebral palsy treatment,? developed his herbal prescription “Dizhi kungfu? tablets” and “Naotan kungfu sachet”. He has led the department to use the head acupuncture, point injection, physiotherapy, speaking training and so on to treat 30000 patients. 68% effectiveness has been gotten. He showed his articles on 5th International Children Neurology Conference in 1990 in Japan and 7th Children Neurology Conference in Chicago, USA in 1994.He has been invited to have lectures in British, Norway, Spain, Singapore, Indonesia and so on.
ACHIEVEMENT of STUDY: “The study of Blood Flow dynamics in Children Acute Pneumonia”; “The Study of Treatment Combined TCM-Western Medicine for Children with Sub-normal Intelligence” and “The Study of Multi-Organ Microcirculation in Children with MOF” were appraised as having reached top international standard. In November 2004, he was the first Chinese Paediatrician for Rehabilitation of Cerebral Palsy to go to The International Conference for Children Rehabilitation of Cerebral Palsy in Oswestry, UK.? As the only delegate from Asia, he gave a 45 minutes speech about “Effectiveness of Acupuncture on Rehabilitation of Cerebral Palsy” and got much praise. Delegates were much impressed by the power of acupuncture.
His book “HANDBOOK FOR HOME REHABILITATION OF CHILDREN CEREBRAL PALSY” has been published by Medical Publisher in Hong Kong in 1999.
